Kone Falls (also known as Kailash Kona Falls) is located near Uthukottai on the Tirupathi Road. It is a 120 Km drive from Chennai via Koyambedu, Puzhal, Red Hills, Periyapalayam, Uthukottai before Puttur (One should look out for the Kailash Kona entrance arch on the left side to reach Kone Falls, else you may end up in Puttur). The Falls has a good amount of water in the months of November & December depending upon the rainfall. There are several vendors on the foot path to the Main Falls, who can take an order and prepare the food for lunch (mostly chicken, Caution: Food prepared normally will be extremely spicy).
An enjoyable waterfalls, only during the right season, within the driving limits for a picnic day.
