Mysore - the historical city of Karnataka is known for its tourist attractions - Brindavan Gardens & the famous Mysore Palace. It is around 480 Km from Chennai and 150 Km from Bangalore.
The Brindavan Gardens, adjoining the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam, is one of the beautiful, well maintained gardens in India, spread over a vast area. The combination of the colourful plants and flowers is a beauty to watch by the day and the water fountains dancing to the music in the weekends, make up the evenings.
Krishna Raja Sagar Dam
Mysore Palace, belongs to the Wodeyar kings, who ruled the Mysore city lately, is an architectural marvel located in the heart of the city. The palace is decorated with lights on its outline over the weekend evenings. No cameras & shoes are allowed inside the palace and one has to keep them in the designated lockers at the entrance and it is safe. There is a small bazaar at the entrance of the palace, where one can buy some ancient coins (for people who are interested in Numismatics).

ReplyDeleteIts a complete guide about garden. I liked your post. Brindavan Gardens, Mysore are laid out below the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam (known as Kannambadi to the locals), built across the river Cauvery, which itself is a superb example of excellent engineering and is a major tourist attraction.
